AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF RETIREMENT, OF SORTS... Hello, dear readers. I wish to thank you for belonging to my group here and for faithfully reading my offerings. I wanted to do the courtesy of informing you that my blog here will be dormant from now on. Yes, it will remain in place for anyone to access. However, I will no longer be contributing new material to the site. My energy is being refocused into fictional pursuits. Partly, this is due to my belief that I have fully explored the Arthurian legend - at least to my own satisfaction. But it is also because there has been a proliferation of amateur and New Age/Neopagan "sleuthing" that has done much to erode the principles of sound scholarship. At the same time, ironically, there remains a stubborn refusal at the truly academic level to engage in any kind of serious discussion on the possibility of a historical Arthur candidate for the 6th century A.D. This intransigence on the part of established institutions has convinced me that further "knocking my head against the proverbial brick wall" will avail me of nothing save a shattered skill and spilled brains. As I value my skull - and even more so my brains - it behooves me to look in another direction for personal and professional fulfillment.
