Place-name evidence strongly suggests that Durocornovium was a Roman period settlement that was named for the horn-like highland that lay directly between Roman roads running to either side of Liddington/Badbury Castle. As I have recently opted for an Arthur who belonged to the territory of the ancient Dobunni, it makes sense to explore the possibility that Arthur of Cornwall (Cernyw) had been relocated from Cornovium to Cornwall. I will explore this in my next blog piece.
